How the Pleinly Painting System Works
Minimal hand movements – maintain the flow
Water cups, palette and paper are positioned close to each other on the same level, reducing unnecessary hand movements. This allows more efficient and ergonomic painting, helping you to maintain rhythm and flow during painting.
Layout that adapts to your painting method
Every painter works differently. The Pleinly system adapts to your natural hand movements and preferred layout. Cups, palettes and paper positions can be arranged according to your preferred workflow. The system supports horizontal or vertical formats of sketchbooks, watercolor blocks and loose sheets. The layout can be mirrored for left-handed painters.
Easy to use tilting with rotary handle
Board tilts ±45° in both directions (up to ±80° when the cup is nearly empty), allowing you to control water flow on the painting. Rotary handle locks the board securely at any angle. You can also tilt painting freely by hand when you temporarily unattach it. Large rotary knobs and tripod flip locks are easy to operate even when wearing gloves.
Fast & easy setup – with a reliable dual connection design
The easel board attaches to the tripod in seconds using the included quick-release plate. Two connection points allow the board to be positioned so the cups remain close to you or farther away. For best balance, attach the board to the connection closest to the heavier water cup. The additional connection point provides a secondary mounting option, offering added reliability during longer outdoor painting trips or demanding conditions.

Transport wet paintings safely
The included Wet Panel Carrier allows safe transport of wet paintings without touching the painted surface. It supports sketchbooks, loose sheets, watercolor blocks, panels and canvases in multiple sizes. No need to a carry wet painting in your hand.
Painting touches only at the edges – Minimal contact marks
The Wet Panel Carrier frame has inclined edges so the painting touches the wooden frame only at the outer edges. This minimizes contact with the painted surface, and any small marks are normally hidden when the painting is framed. All wooden parts are multiple varnished for protection
Includes varnished Backing Board - 16×12"
The Watercolor Easel Set includes a backing board which has 4 layers of varnish. It can be used as backing board for watercolor painting. You can tape loose paper sheet on it. The 16×12″ board fits inside the wet panel carrier so you can carry a wet loose sheet inside the carrier. Can also be used as a protective cover for the carrier.
Everything fits together
Pleinly sketchbook and loose sheets use the same paper so you don’t need to change painting style when switching between those. Pleinly 8×12″ sketchbooks, 14.2 x 10.5″ loose sheets, 16×12″ backing board & wet panel carrier are designed to work together.
