1. Overview

Pleinly® BP-70 Backpack is a durable, multipurpose pack designed especially for plein-air painters — but it’s equally practical for outdoor travel, sports, and everyday use. The backpack features cushioned panels on all sides, making it sturdier (and slightly heavier) than typical backpacks, but far stronger and equipped with more functionality.

2. Features & Use Cases

The BP-70 combines the functionality of a 70L travel backpack, duffle bag, and airplane cabin bag — truly 3 bags in 1. It works as a full-featured hiking backpack that quickly transforms into a travel duffel, with multiple accessories and unique design elements. It also accommodates the Pleinly® Watercolor Easel Set and other plein-air painting kits, making it an ideal choice for artists on the move.

3. Outdoor-Optimized Design

Optimized for active outdoor travellers and multi-purpose use. A full-fledged 70L travel and hiking backpack + duffel bag with a removable and height-adjustable hip belt, padded shoulder straps, sternum strap, and four large exterior pockets (3×3L + 5L pocket fitting a 17” laptop or water bladder). Features 92 MOLLE loops in six positions, a MOLLE-compatible water bottle holder, two carabiners, and attachment points for a tent, roll mat, and top-mounted sleeping bag. Made from strong, water-repellent 600D material and reinforced for maximum durability.

4. Transforms Into a 70L Travel Duffel

The backpack converts easily into a 70L travel duffel bag. Hide the shoulder straps inside the back pocket, remove the hip belt, and attach the included over-the-shoulder duffel strap. All six sides have 5 mm cushioning, and the bottom includes a hard plastic board plus 10 mm padding. Compress the bag to a compact size suitable for airplane cabin or even under-seat regulations. 5. Fully Openable 60L Main Compartment

A fully openable 60L main compartment with strong 10 mm zippers provides organized packing—opens like a suitcase. Includes three internal compression straps and two 1L interior pockets for small items. Perfect for tents, hotels, hiking, photography, and plein-air painting. All items stay securely in place thanks to the ergonomic compression straps. See shaking test in the video.

6. Attach Anything

Cross-linkable 2” wide exterior compression straps tighten in two directions (two tails per buckle) and form four loops. Create up to a 50” loop for attaching large objects such as postal packages, extra backpacks, painting canvases, and more. Strap tails roll neatly into elastic keepers for a clean, urban-friendly look. Attach additional MOLLE-compatible accessories using 92 MOLLE loops and the two included carabiners. 7. Airplane-Ready Compact Mode

Compresses into a small size that meets overhead-cabin or even under-seat personal-item requirements. Easily tightened down using the built-in compression system and two included carabiners. Ideal for air travel: fly compact, then unleash the full 70L capacity at your destination. See video.

8. Multi-Purpose Everyday Use

(1) Everyday grocery bag when the hip belt is removed.
